Having seen Ken Russell's The Devils, I was quite familiar with Loudun Possessions but I wasn't aware that this movie was based on that as well. But when I realised the parallels, I was quite intrigued by this take on the incident. It's marvelously shot with some brilliant imagery and also quite a sympathetic and bleak portrayal of the incident. I'm still not big of clerical related movies but this was quite moving. Loved the multiple nonologues that had me on the edge of my seat.
