I feel like this film walks a very thin line trying to not make Trump come across as a caricature, which is very hard to do for a guy who's been in the zeitgeist for the past decade, but it does a great job, mostly. Absolutely love the different formats this is filmed in. It's a pretty obvious choice but it works very well. Great looking movie in general.
I liked this but I was kinda bothered by how idiotic the extreme right was portrayed. I feel like it's kind of a double edged criticism, because it's constantly being proven right that insanely racist people in positions of power are fucking stupid. And perhaps nuance is something we can't afford in case stupid people watching would pretend the message wasn't clear/political. But it feels like it's kinda talking down to people who do get it (like me, a smartie).…
