Josh Lobo’s review published on Letterboxd:
So great. So so so great. Agh! Fitting that the last film I saw at Cannes, was the first film of the festival that I LOVED.
Incredible, deeply nuanced performances let this navigate between being a warm modern take on ‘Pretty Woman’ before veering hard into ‘Uncut Gems’ territory. Gorgeous cinematography, never a dull moment and filled to the brim with quirky characters.
Not only is this Sean Baker’s best, but I can’t see anything else in ‘24 topping it.
