Ahh this is exactly what I hoped it to be and more.
I've seen the remake "The Lake House" early 2016 and while I remember enjoying it, I barely remembered the plot details and where it was going. And while I like both Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, their performance in this didn't leave a lasting impression apparently.
I think it focused more on side-characters than this but I'm not 100% sure.
Anyway, enough about the remake, it's Il Mare's time to shine.
Needed something to relax my mind and this was an excellent choice for that.
Lee Jung-jae is great but I'll remember this one for Jun Ji-hyun. She quickly won over my heart in My Sassy Girl but here she shows that she doesn't need to act quirky to give a memorable performance.
If you enjoy analysing and thinking over plot points... this movie is not for you.
But if you can turn your mind off a bit and can let yourself get carried away by a calm and charming movie, this movie is definitely for you.
Really enjoyed the aesthetics by the cinematography and architecture here.
Mellow movie in a good way, and another one to rewatch. One of the most relaxing movies I've seen, perfect to wind down. Bonus that it is suited for any season too, has some Christmas vibes but can easily be equally enjoyed during the summer aswel.
