Ghoul Gruel’s review published on Letterboxd:
I thought this was brilliant. Well shot. Well acted. Well paced - didn’t drag out the build up too long. Loved all the characters and relationships. The push and pull with her sister. The realistic and unrestrained, but not gratuitous, view of young adult life. The whole story and setting was just skewered enough from common reality to add another layer to it. Like wtf was this school? Who’s running this fucking thing? Vets man…
But, most importantly, I thought there was a subtlety and linger in the body horror elements which makes it way more unsettling. The only thing it didn’t have was when you get a bit of skin sticking out near your nail you go to pull it out and it drags down like a thread.
The fucking dad, man. Zero fucks.
