***************
This was a huge disappointment for me.
I had been looking forward to it.
But alas... it was... not what I expected.
It plays like the cheesiest of Hallmark films. Like a Lifetime movie that hired a bunch of bad actors to say some awfully written dialogue. Truly bad writing... because several of these actors are not bad actors, but when you have a trash script, then you don't have much of a chance to save it.
All of these characters are boring as hell and disappointing as fuck. Just characters that we don't give a shit about. The only character that provides any interest is the mysterious man from the past who shows up to stir up everything around him, played by Danny Glover. Glover is the only actor who brings any interest to this story and any talent to the screen.
Again, there are some talented cast members whom I've seen do fine work in other films, but they are TERRIBLE in this one. Except for Glover, but even Danny can't save this one.
The story has a moment towards the end that causes some interest, but it is too little/too late by that time. The damage is too much and even an interesting ending can't resurrect this corpse of a movie.
... so disappointed... sigh...
