This is the second Thom Eberhardt film I’ve watched with a strong, fun leading lady (watch Night of the Comet). His characters have depth and feel grounded and Deedee is a joy to watch.
It’s well directed and looks great. There’s a very low body count and little gore but it relies on good story and vibes to inject the horror feelies. Final Destination was obv based on this, but this uses the recently deceased to ‘right the mistake’. Being ‘recent’, they’re pretty bland. It works for the story but they aren’t that interesting or scary to look at. Obvious influence to It Follows also.
And I loved the end!
