***************
From David Robert Mitchell, the writer/director of "It Follows", this movie follows that one. (...see what I did there?...)
Starring Skinny Spider-Man, this flick plays out like a neo-noir full of weird dream sequences, ridiculous coincidences - especially in L.A. - and puzzles that even Will Shortz couldn't figure out in a month of Sundays.
I think Mitchell had a lot of cool ideas and then just tried to cram them all into this movie regardless of whether they fit together well or not. (Spoilers: they don't)
The movie does have its moments and Garfield is a likable screen presence, although his character is such a loser of a person that it's hard to root for him. But we do, mainly because we want Spidey to win.
I'm glad I finally saw this... but I won't be returning to it any time soon.
