This doesn't work for me. The male lead is constantly overacting and there is no moment where suspension of disbelief is possible when he is around, which is generally. The banter feels very forced and conversations sound like reading lines.
After an hour, we are still in dialogue mode, now with a hobo, and nothing scary has happened unless you are afraid of hobos. I was not sure if I could continue watching but I did, through to the end, and there is not much more there.
It's shot well and has the potential to look good, but Tubi's encoding has introduced a lot of digital artifacts so it's a bit hard to enjoy that. There's a lot of family stuff that... look, this is just not the film for me. I think you get the point.
I hate negative reviews of indie films so I'm not going to make a thing out of it, and it's clear a lot of care went into this, but if you find you can't make it through this film, you have my sympathy.
