Hooptober #30: UK, 1980s, 1 film based on a Clive Barker story

It's a little weird to finally watch this after only picking up on random tidbits from pop culture osmosis (cenobites, the lament configuration - still don't know what that is tbh - Pinhead, "We have such sights to show you," etc) and realize that this is not at all what I had built up in my imagination after the years. Yes, it's bloody and gross, with great (disgusting) makeup and practical effects, but there's also way more family drama than actual demons.
