Grave Robbers has serious Friday The 13th vibes, from a lumbering, unstoppable killer right down a campfire group of victims. Oh, and lots of bloody killings. Joy!
More good news, horror fans, Satan is in play here, so the pedestrian “murder by axe” routine is bolstered by a supernatural element, causing all kinds of unusual carnage, from flying daggers and sinkholes to - get this - an animated killer CEMENT WALL. Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?
Look, the story is paper thin and there are plenty of quality slashers to choose from, but if you’re looking for some mindless fun, it’s hard to top Grave Robbers’ high production values and never-dull supernatural shenanigans. And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the great atmosphere, especially if cemetery settings are your thing (they’re most definitely my thing).
This may be the best Spanish-language graveyard slasher ever. Except for Cemetery of Terror. Why not watch ‘em both!
