Watching on election night is so fun, it’s like having a little sneak peak of the future.

I was a little underwhelmed by this one. They did a great job with the sets, the premise, and the setup. It just kind of fell apart in the last third of the movie or so. Still, I’m glad to see fresh ideas hitting the big screen, so I count this as a win.

Slightly underwhelming overall but I really enjoyed the visuals, the score, and the horror elements. That damn bear was wild, I loved it. The ending didn’t really stick for me, but I am curious how my opinion will change with future viewings. I did just recently finish reading the book, maybe that’s influencing my view.

Felt like I couldn’t blink, I didn’t want to miss a moment. Just gripping, tense, and beautiful from start to finish.

I didn’t expect to be so creeped out by this one, but it was properly scary! So unrelentingly uncomfortable the whole time. A day later, I’m still processing why it freaked me out so much. Maybe the loss of autonomy and the implications within that. Maybe the deafening moments of chaos that suddenly and frequently break any moment of quiet or relative normalcy. The character movements in the shadows and background shots. All of it.

Tough watch. Great movie.
