Creditable low budget indie horror. It's pretty well made, and it has an interesting premise. Podcaster (... not sure I'm into all these indie horror movies based around podcasters, seems kinda weird and self-indulgent but I can't quite figure out why) is disgraced for being... oh I don't know, venal and unscrupulous or some such shit... and then he decides to follow up on a letter about some old dude in the boondocks who thinks a monster is lurking in the woods near his house. Cue trip to check it out and some odd couple comedy followed by potential monster siege horror.
So, it's watchable enough but - yet again - there's just not enough meat on this bone. The plot feels attenuated over the length of the film. And, I don't want to spoil anything, but let's just say that a fully detailed explanation of what is going on is not really the point of Todd and Alex Greenlee's story here. It's more about finding connection or finding yourself or finding... you know what? I'm not sure I really know what sort of sentimental message this movie was trying to push because I'm really not sure it earnt it - but it's definitely trying to be that sort of movie. In fact, the similarities to BJ Novak's Vengeance are quite striking - that's the tone and weight that All Eyes is going for without really succeeding.
