Hooptober X Film #7 of 37
1 Film Based on a Clive Barker Story
I love it when remakes do something completely different instead of just doing the same thing over again for money. I feel it does spell itself out a little too much in the latter half when the events could just talk for themselves, but it wasn’t too bad. Where this movie really shines is the production design. The artwork and cinematography is spectacular and I really loved the silhouette bits. The performances are also really great.
So do I like this more than the original? I don’t know, it’s been a while since I’ve seen it. What I can say is that this is a very strong remake that I will remember for its beauty and themes
