Ruben’s review published on Letterboxd:
All these years later, I would argue that you would be hard pressed to find a film that does suspense as well as Misery, undoubtedly achieved by Kathy Bates' unhinged performance, Marc Shaiman's swelling and uneasy music score, and some intrusive camera work, all mixed together to produce a perfect cocktail of tension.
It has a minimalist, claustrophobic setting, that takes advantage of it's snowy isolation. It has moments of truly shocking violence. It's has multiple scenes of dark comedy. It has a top tier cast. It's a truly classic and iconic horror, and a well produced adaption of one of Stephen King's greats. Delightfully terrifying.
