Such an interesting film from David Cronenberg. Even though it’s earlier in his career, he really already had a few body horror films under his belt and right after this he went on his great 5 horror stint. Just looking at where this falls in his filmography is a small little funny bit. Anyways, even if this isn’t the normal you’d expect from him I really did find this mildly interesting. I think there’s really some good things littered throughout the film but none of them to see fully expanded enough for my tastes. It doesn’t help this is a quick 91 minutes; but then again, that could help with how fine I think it ended up. William Smith is such a great fit here and he was really the entire film for me. Two things relating to actor George Buza. 1: His name is meatball in this and that was such a funny choice of name. 2: If you look at his profile on IMDb you cannot tell me that isn’t a carbon copy of Orson Welles. Besides that, Fast Company is okay enough for a watch. Easily seen better from Cronenberg, but anytime you see non-horror from him it’s always a surprise.
