David Gordon Green and crew take a big swing. I appreciate filmmakers who take swings -- we got plenty of Big Mike in the last 2 films so having him take a backseat for a bit to develop other characters is an interesting move. That's not to say Big Mike doesn't show up in a big way, and as the title notes, we do get a definitive ending to this series. But I feel the relationships that this film shows aren't really fleshed out so I don't really find myself caring much.

At times, ENDS suggest the town of Haddonfield itself is responsible for creating Michael, and that it could create more mindless killers. However, that idea kind of gets dropped and doesn't really get fully investigated. As my friend Rob Dean notes, ENDS feels more like an epilogue than the last film in a trilogy.

Hot take: HALLOWEEN 3 is my favorite of this series, and I wish that we had gotten the anthology series we were supposed to get. Now is a great time to do it.
