As much as I find myself semi-understanding the difference in culture and society that certain Anime showcase from my small, but acceptable viewing of television Anime; Wicked City really just breaks this moment and crumbles my interests in it completely. A beautifully animated noir film is something that sounds *exactly* up my ally and given how much of a sleaze fest this is it really sort of made me chuckle at first, but then there’s this turning point in the film where everything just stopped being innocent in its demonstration and was plain sickening. I’m one of those people that anytime something of that sort (don’t wanna spoil really but it’s sexual content) just doesn’t belong in basically anything. It’s gross and sickening and shock factor doesn’t work if I feel sick watching it; so it sort of dove right into that and it all fell apart. There’s only one bad moment but everything else just has the same feeling after that and it’s not worth it. Two stars for animation and design alone; definitely a solid “non-recommendation.”
