Shudder (secret screening)
Babe wake up, new Argento just dropped!
Shudder announced they'd have a secret early screening of a new film on their It Came From Shudder station. I was hoping for DEADSTREAM or VHS 99, but decided to stick with DARK GLASSES because it has a good catchy intro with a bangin' soundtrack.
I'd mostly written off Argento's later films based on their terrible reviews, so I had low expectations. But I stuck with DARK GLASSES and enjoyed it. It's a stripped down giallo with solid kills, a brisk pace and the aforementioned punchy soundtrack. Argento is back to his roots with a new, stylish entry.
Shoutout to the Shudder Discord community for making this group watch a lot more fun. I need to do more group watches.
