Throughout the film, I thought, "This is alright so far, just a bit of gory moments and strange dialogue here and there" until I saw the tragic ending. Admittedly I underestimated this film because I didn't expect something like this from Jean Rollin since he is known for making erotic horror films and the last film I saw from him was somewhat slow. I'll be checking out a few more films of his in the future for sure, especially The Iron Rose later this month.
I can see why some people aren't a fan of this film, due to the strange dialogue with the English-speaking characters and certain parts of the film feeling a bit long, but if you overlook these flaws I think you'll have a film that will interest any horror fan.
