The fact that this came out in the same year as Ichi the Killer, Kairo, and Visitor Q astound me... This film reminded me of the first two though and it's a lot bleaker than I expected, to be fair, it's a film called Suicide Club. The imagery with the cheerful pop music was a bit creepy, and Ryo Ishibashi's last scene stuck around in my head after watching, since it symbolized how deep the rabbit hole went in trying to solve the mystery of the suicides. I can't wait to watch the sequel to this film, hopefully, it lives up to its average rating of 3.8!
