So I’ve been looking everywhere to watch the original 1978 Dawn of the Dead because I did want to watch these in order so maybe I won’t miss anything. Couldn’t find it streaming so jumping to movie 3 of these zombies. It’s a bit of a jump from those black & white zombies to the awesome colorful zombies. And apparently George A. Romero even has a cameo moment where he was a zombie with a scarf (says on the list of cast on LB). (Adding this to my spotting the director cameo movies). I missed George’s moment. Might rewatch this just to find Zombie George with his scarf.

So jumping from Night of the Living to Day of the Dead and these zombies are everywhere. And there’s beautiful ghost towns with a crocodile roaming around (zombies apparently don’t eat crocs and vice versa). There’s new characters. New people just trying to find other survivors. At a deserted town. With tons of cars deserted. Your usual apocalypse.

That’s the beginning of the movie and I really liked it. From there it drags on after the group goes to their barracks underground. I did really like Zombie Bub (the zombie the scientist was trying to domesticate)!! I was even glad for him getting revenge. I did like the storyline even if it was slow at times. The scare factor had some good jump scare moments - mostly thanks to Sarah’s nightmares. The zombies chowing down on their prey was really gross.

I would definitely watch this again! Oh and yup, George still knocks it out of the park with that ending 😱
