My 3rd Hooptober movie with Christopher Lee. Never can go wrong with a Christopher Lee horror movie, especially the comedic ones.
City of the Dead has such gorgeous gothic atmosphere. I love the way it’s just amped up the use of fog that it seems like it’s everywhere. The story is your typical 1960s witchcraft horror movie. Some witches ask Satan to save them and to also curse the town. A college gal with some seriously sexy underwear goes to the town. I just had to pause the movie to take a photo of that - here’s Venetia Stevenson is that sexy outfit. From there it’s your basic witchcraft stuff and some creepy people.
The ending was both good and hilarious. Hilarious because once again I couldn’t tell if I was watching a horror movie or a porno (Venetia’s outfit). Another Damsel in Distress was calling for the Hero to save her. The guy’s name just happened to have been Dick.
Oh Dick. Save me. 🤣
