32. From the 1980s you have not seen before

Finally caught this bad boy with a $2.99 Prime rental. The video and sound quality were terrible, but I promised myself if I enjoyed it I'd buy myself the Severin Blu-Ray, which looks incredible. Well folks, I had a fuckin' blast, so now I'd better pony up and get myself a copy.

This came out during a backwoods and Bigfoot horror craze, but this is definitely the dick-rippingest, face-burningest, sleeping-bag-tossingest of all Bigfoot films. Apparently James Wasson's original film was pretty tame, but producer Jim Ball shot additional gore scenes and added a Satanic cult subplot, which blends surprisingly well even though most of the kills were flashbacks.

The added gore put this on the infamous Video Nasties list and added to its notoriety. Someday I hope to watch all the Video Nasties, but that's another list for another time.

They don't shy away from showing the beast, which actually looks more like a big caveman with extra hairy arms. It makes you wonder if this is supposed to be another species or if he's from a long line of inbred backwoods people. Whatever he is, it works for me!
