Your Name has completely changed my relationship with anime and rewired my brain chemistry. Over the past few years, I've watched a handful of anime films and mostly walked away underwhelmed, some I even found kind of...well...annoying. Going into Your Name, I expected pretty much the same thing. I was completely wrong. So here I am now rethinking how much anime I've been missing out on because of this fear I had of hating it. This damn movie is so gut-wrenchingly beautiful, emotionally and visually, that it left me speechless. I had nonstop goosebumps, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.

Am I a bad person if I say that I wish this was more offensive? Like I was really looking forward to some dark jokes, but it was pretty tame!

A great movie, with one of the best opening sequences I've seen in a long time! While the plot was a bit lackluster, it stays true to Marvel's classic formula of creating fun, cinematic experiences. The comedy in this was gold, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds just have perfect chemistry!

When I started watching Anora, I expected a bottom of the barrel film filled with gratuitous sex and little substance. But as the story unfolded, I realized there was actually more depth to it than I anticipated. While there were a few moments where it dragged, the film was mostly entertaining from start to finish. It surprised me in the best way, and I can confidently say it’s one of my favorite movies of the year!
