If you've seen my lists on Letterboxd, you'd know that I self-inflict myself to actually watching my ever-growing watchlist of new-to-me movies. I aim to watch 200 - 250 films per year, but sickness, personal problems and life's hiccups often derail me into only watching 100 per year. Since 2016, I always make it a goal to expand my cinematic horizons and my empathy for others; failing this goal has infuriated me to no end in the past/present/future/all of space-time.
Luckily for a complete perfectionist like me, I just found out about the Letterboxd Season Challenge after scouring Criterion's reddit. Here's the main host's catalog for a concise introduction/explanation: letterboxd.com/bmilot56/list/the-5th-annual-letterboxd-season-challenge/.

I sincerely love pushing myself to check out films I'd previously never had desired of seeing. I'm delightfully surprised whenever I underestimated a film - a lot of my favorites were actually films I thought I'd honestly hate/dislike. To keep on going on this evolving life-long odyssey, I'm entering this year's challenge and attempt to do it. Let's embark on this new adventure, fellow cinephiles!
Update: Life got out of my hands, as I'm fighting both my mental health issues and dealing with overloaded stress. I'm now playing catchup, and I'll be taking my time with this challenge. I'll get it done before May comes, and I'll eventually review all these suckers. However, it will take awhile - college is somewhat necessary in our competitive culture, but it's definitely not fun dealing with its demanding projects or its eternal stresses. Pray for my safety/sanity, fellow cinephiles. Take care!
