Per a question posed to Ari Aster in his Reddit AMA by u/0achBCR, “Who are some of your favorite contemporary directors, and what film of theirs do you admire most?” Ari responded with some of his favorites in a series of comments, with the caveat that, “I’m going to forget a bunch....” These are the films he listed.

Not included are Chris Morris’ Jam and Steven Soderbergh’s The Knick, which are both television series.
