Tom Ogden’s review published on Letterboxd:
Navalny is one of the all-time best documents of the real-time fight for human liberation I have witnessed, and I am sure it will win Sundance. It covers the story of how Russian opposition leader Navalny survived an assassination attempt, then uncovers the men who carried out the attempt on his life to expose the deep corruption of the Russian state and definitively prove Putin is a murderer. It's as if a spy novel is unfolding before your eyes, but everything is a direct reflection of the world we are inhabiting. This story wouldn't be believable if it weren't so thoroughly documented. This is social impact filmmaking at its most important. This movie is actively working to change the world we live in for the better, and I am inspired and in complete awe. Putin can go fuck himself. Navalny is a hero that deserves his freedom, and I am fully behind total sanctions against Russian until he is released.
