The wayward camera in the bar scene left me antsy, but then the morning-after scene was quite entrancing with its still grainy shadowplay and blatant double exposure. It's one of those films whose mood of nothingness is difficult to attribute, whether to its deliberate direction or its budgetary restriction, but learning the soundtrack was original raised it in my estimation. I thought Fixing To Die was from a Van Ronk record or something, it's fantastic.
