I already seen the 2007 Funny Games so I knew what to expect going on. What can I say besides it’s exactly what I was expecting. An exact 1:1 remake. This happens every now and then. Sometimes through filmmakers paying homage, filmmakers copying, or just being hired to make the same exact movie to cash in on those familiar IP bucks. This is one of those rare occasions where the director stayed the same and so did everything else. All except for language and actors and probably crew. The only other time I’ve seen this happen is with Cold Pursuit. Except Hans Petter Moland a few things from In Order of Disappearance.

Where am I going with this? I’m simply saying that I love this story and how distressing it gets. I prefer the 2007 only because it’s in English otherwise they’re the same film. This film is sort of a slap in the face just to reassure you that things are not ok and will never be such. You might as well play along and be entertained.
