~ The Prowler 1981
My list:🗡💃🕺
There is a point in the movie when you realize the effects look way better than a typical slasher from the 80’s then you see Tom Savini’s name under “make up.” The world makes way more sense after that. There isn’t much to to comment about this movie besides the kills are pretty top notch and brutal. Even at times feels pretty realistic. A combination of epic special effects, acting and good direction. Beyond that there isn’t much. There’s a dance, horny kids, and a masked killer. Typical but honestly fun enough. There are worse options and better options out there.
The killer has a neat get up. Uses a pitchfork/bayonet wombo combo and has a super secret double barrel shotgun. A shotgun I forgot about than was very happy to see it in play. We get a very nice head pop courtesy of the 12 gauge and a clumsy killer.
I think it’s a fun time if you in the mood one night for a different slasher. Don’t expect anything too different though.
