What is the worst part of this movie? Probably everything that isn’t guys in silly suits bumping into each other. 

After watching a couple Godzilla movies in my time #notall, I’ve come to appreciate the 2014 Godzilla and Kong Skull Island. I know I’m speaking absolute blasphemy to the hardcore fan base, but this stuff is just silly. Something that these films with the exception of a few stand outs, completely loose the scale of these monsters where some of the modern undertakings can show them off in full force. 

What I’m getting at is that this movie loses sight of entertainment and tries to parade around Japanese movie stars in hopes to draw more eyes. Looking at you too Kong vs Godzilla and King of The Monsters. What we get instead of an hour and a half of guys in suits breaking models, we get a group of nameless men running around trying to solve a very uninteresting alien problem. It becomes convoluted and just mind numbingly pointless by the end. The action scenes with these human characters might as well be replaced with green plastic soldiers with a kid making sound effects in the back ground. Anything with human characters feels so disconnected and cheap. 

Sometimes I can find enjoyment in the rough, but when you present me cheesy guys in suits breaking shit then cut to a group of people I know nothing about I lose interest pretty fast. Even when we watch the monsters breaking shit it feels pretty lame. Rodan is actually held up by a string and just swung around at things. Hilarious but gets only pretty fast. 

The funniest and probably most entertaining part of the movie is when King Ghidorah swoops in and just gets gang banged by the Kaiju squad. The fight is so absurd and goofy I can’t help but to be entertained. Thinking about the behind the scenes all I can think about is the giggling from the crew. 

If you like this stuff I can see why. I couldn’t get behind it personally.
