HoopTober 8: Mosquito Takes Mandragon

Movie 26
The worst Part 2 that you haven't seen and can access. 2nd of 2 films

This was the movie I was least looking forward to this HoopTober and although it was, if anything, even worse than I had feared, it wasn't anywhere near as painful to watch as I thought it would be. The fact is, Birdemic 2: The Resurrection transcends pain and brings on a kind of heightened sense of awe that something this bad could ever have been actually put together.

There's almost something exquisite about it. Imagine pulling all these people together: camera operators, actors, set designers, musicians, editors, special make-up effects, computer graphics designers and so on; and now imagine every single one of these people fucking up their jobs so badly it almost defies belief. And even then, you don't come close to imagining the clusterfuck that is this movie, because you haven't considered the fact that its writer and director, James Nguyen, apparently wasn't satisfied with the lack of expertise of his people - he had to also to tell them to do idiotic things and write the worst dialogue in the history of movies for them to recite.

The weird thing is, although this is the without a doubt the worst movie I have ever seen, it's not the most boring I've ever seen, and that really should count for something. Normally it would. But, nope, I just can't bring myself to throw any praise at this utter abomination of a movie. But it is funny, I have to admit, this movie will make you laugh - just in the most derisive, nasty way possible, because you're basically just laughing at incompetence.

There is one thing. Previously, the worst film I'd ever seen was Sodoma's Ghost and it used to pain me to name a Lucio Fulci film as the worst ever, so James Nguyen has done me a solid there, at least.
