Happy October 1st!
My first of 31 movies for Spooktober with this classic from the 1930s.
My Golden Age Hooptober challenge movie 12 and I’m marking it for decades (1930s) and countries (America).
Daily Horror Hunt #40: movie 12: Tod Browning. Spin the Wheel of Horror Directors and watch a film from the director your spin lands on.
I love Tod Browning’s Dracula! That was my first Browning film and I’ve been hooked since. It was actually this reason that convinced me to do the Daily Horror Hunt (my 2nd Hunt now). I don’t often watch horror movies but I love love love these classic horrors or psychological and suspenseful horrors.
Freaks is perfect! May the Code of the Freaks live on forever! This is definitely more a social idea of horror than the scary horror. Browning did a great job showing how the true “Freaks” in the end are not the deformed looking people but rather who the person is in the inside. In the end I really felt for poor Hans and Frieda. Also I’m intrigued to look at the short story by Tod Robbins.
Code of Freaks forever 🖤
