First of all, I want to thank every person who follows me here. The fact that people apparently care about my thoughts on film has helped me grow into someone better able to form my own opinions. I say thank you so often on this site but I always mean it and I especially mean it now. ❤️
Secondly, as I haven't done one in a while, let's do a Q&A. I will answer pretty much anything you ask, though I may skip any questions that are too personal.
Finally, I want to get to know the people who follow me, because I've sadly been slacking at my interactions with the Letterboxd community as of late. So below are some…

Finally, I want to get to know the people who follow me, because I've sadly been slacking at my interactions with the Letterboxd community as of late. So below are some questions I'd love to read answers to if you want to take the time to respond to them. Note: this idea is shamelessly stolen from the wonderfully wise StormofCuteness and my friends Albie and Michael.
The questions (and my answers):
1. Where do you come from?
I'm from the UK, specificially Leeds, a city in the north of England. I spent a while living in Bath in the south of England but I'm currently back in Leeds. (Yorkshire forever!!)
2. How does your background shape your taste and interests in film?
My parents were never film fans so I grew up pretty much without cinema. As a result, my tastes are shaped almost solely based on what I saw as a late teenager. My parents also weren't well off so I was never able to build up a large film collection, but my parents try to have quite a highbrow taste and I feel that has passed onto me a little (or maybe I passed it onto them?). I never studied anything media related in school or university so all my film knowledge comes from watching and reading.
3. What's your favourite cultural artforms besides film?
I used to love television, specificially old genre stuff like Doctor Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Prisoner, as well as old British comedies. I also had a phase of loving rap music. Literature wise, I read from all over the place but generally I read a lot of sci-fi and allegorical literature.
4. Who's your favourite director?
Andrei Tarkovsky. 7 films, all masterpieces.
5. What's your favourite film(s)?
It's currently 2001: A Space Odyssey, but that hasn't always been the case. The films listed below are my 20 favourites, sorted alphabetically.
