first hard cry of the fest. a banal but explosive film brimming with tough love meditations on class and race and privilege (their offspring) that somehow manages to be delicate about it all. Hathaway and Strong are terrific — as is a brief Jessica Chastain playing a Trump — but Hopkins performance drives it home. love love. a continuation of Gray's tendency toward subtly profound cinema
