The most interesting part of this movie is the underlying (very in your face) commentary about conforming to standards for black women in the media. It’s the motivation for this whole film. Not forgetting your heritage and where you came from. Once our main character starts to conform bad things start to happen as if anything she does will still result in getting nowhere.
All of that sounds like a pretty solid movie to me. However the horror elements even though fun on paper in execution is kind of lame with exception for the finale which was fun in some parts (extremely lame in others).
The crappy CGI and simplicity in the kills which could have been really fun but aren’t ruined it for me. Commentary by itself isn’t a story. I’m sure others will find this movie good. Not really for me.
