Movie 3 for my Golden Age Hooptober 8.0 challenge with my favorite classic horror actor, Bela Lugosi.
“A bat is not a bird. It’s a mammal.”
This movie is cheesy, campy and with a weak characters, but I don’t care. I really liked this movie. Bela Lugosi was perfection as always. Everyone but the Doc was an “Imbecile! Bombastic ignoramus!” It’s funny how Bella’s character came up with the perfect murder because no one greaves over the victims, and even with a “Devil Bat” everyone stays outside a lot at night. This is a fun movie and i may just rewatch it when it’s on the TCM channel in October.
Also thank you Producers Releasing Corporation for deciding that Hollywood needed more low-budget horror movies in the 40s.
“Henry Morton: You're a dreamer, Doc. Too much money is bad for dreamers.
Dr. Paul Carruthers: So you tried to pay me in flattery, telling me that I'm a dreamer. Well... I *do* dream - dreams that you would *never* guess.”
