First movie is of course Malignant. A film where James Wan gets all the money and literally goes buck wild. When the smoke clears the producers are left rubbing their eyes wondering what the fuck just happened. 
I see some of the Giallo hallmarks here, but in no way is this a straight up homage to Giallo. That opening credit sequence is a dead giveaway for that.
I’m kind of a sucker for that James Wan slickness so I was well entertained. Better off going into with little knowledge of what it is beside it being a James Wan movie. That is the best way to go about this movie. No matter what you think through out the run time, just get ready for a wild climax.
