The only annual tradition/challenge I've taken part of since the beginning of my time on Letterboxd, as October, Halloween, and horror are possibly my three favorite things in this world. Some years I've followed the criteria, others I've just logged 31 horror films, this year I'll be following the criteria. I'm trying to do mostly films I've never seen before but there are definitely going to be a few rewatches because it's not October if I'm not rewatching shit like Halloween 4 for the 300th time. I expect I'll go way over 31 films again this year, because I always wind up watching a bunch of the Friday the 13th and Halloween films every October. Speaking of which is it October 1st yet?

This list is dedicated to my best friend, my brother, the late Rob Whatley who would have turned 29 on October 26th. Halloween and my life won't ever be the same without you.
