Not good at all! BUT it does star Paul Dano as a grimy 2000s emo with dark hair and that is so unbelievably hot to me
Richard Linklater films Ranked
A Linklater mockumentary ? This should be a pretty interesting watch.
AVRIL LAVIGNE ?!?!?
THATS MY SK8ER GIRL
Damn this whole cast was absolutely stacked, so many big names in such small parts criticising the fast food industry and its production of absolute slop. The exploitation of teen workers and immigrants to fill up the pockets of corporate earned by filling the arteries of working class people with unsanitary products and their complete lack of accountability.
Linklater clearly hates fast food but I feel like all the points he was trying to make really didn’t feel the full impact that he was going for, I still did enjoy the film tho.
i've been getting this video ("paul dano in fast food nation (2006) scenepack") in my youtube recommended for ages but i was like 'no, i'll commit and watch the whole movie!' and i just... please, to anyone wanting to watch this movie solely for him: just watch the scenepack!
i feel like this movie had potential with a premise as interesting as this and some talented actors under its belt too but so much of it was soo boring and annoying and i didn't give a fuck about it! bits of it were good idk like there sure was an attempt, but this just wasn't good..
it adds to the "paul dano movies that make me glad im vegetarian" cinematic universe tho!
I really don’t understand all the hate for this film. Sure, it’s a little surface-level and heavy handed at times. But it effectively highlights the issues it wants to tackle in a story that feels original and even enjoyable, when it’s not disturbing. It’s got an incredible ensemble and characters that you do become invested in. The biggest complaint I keep seeing is that there’s not a more centralized plot propelling the film forward. But, like, this is a Linklater film. That’d be like complaining that the latest Tarantino film is non linear.
