This was an awful movie I didn't like it at all. There was literally nothing to like in this movie, the acting was bad the zombies looked bad the gore was bad the story was boring and overdone.
So yeah I wouldn't suggest it to anyone but if you want to see it it's on plex in the US.
"He wants my brains!"
"If that's all he's after, you have nothing to worry about, my friend."
After his uncle Charles (Peter Coyote) is killed, Julian Garrison (John Keefe), who's in college now, discovers two drums in a secret room at Charles' house. One of them falls into the hands of a friend of Julian's who thinks it's a drug because of its properties and begins selling it on campus as 'Z' ...
Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave is a comedy horror film directed by Ellory Elkayem. It's the 5th installment in the Return of the Living Deadfilm series, a sequel to Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis (my review).
The sequel was produced in tandem…
So I’m not sure how, but I didn’t completely hate this one on the rewatch and actually found it better than part 4 this time. Don’t get me wrong, it’s complete and total crap, but maybe the whole rave aspect fondly reminds me of my misguided youth? I also thought the comedy bits worked better here. It has the same cast as part 4 but in different capacities and I thought the leads here were more appropriate than the ones chosen for part 4. The male lead is the same in both and he’s pretty cute. Yes, I realize I’m married but there’s nothing wrong with admiring attractive people from afar.
As with part 4, be sure to read my…
I watched both this and part 4 earlier today and, well, I just can’t. I need a palate cleanser.
Filmed right after the previous one, and soooo much worse. No charm, little to no humour. I guess turning the trioxin into a drug was new.
Nachdem ein Student im Nachlass seines Onkels ein paar Fässer Trioxin-5 gefunden hat und seine Freunde denken, dass das eine tolle Partydroge geben könnte, wird die geplante Halloweenparty zum echten Rave to the Grave.
Was soll man schon erwarten vom 5. Teil eines Quatsch-Franchises...? Genau das! Blödsinnigen Klamauk, allerhand verlorene Köpfe und Gliedmaßen sowie ordentlich viel "Hirn".
31 DAYS OF HORROR 2023 - Film 9
It's been about a year since the events at Hybra Tech cost their friends their lives, but the surviving teenagers have returned to as normal a life as they can have. They're now in college where they eventually discover one of the last barrels of Tryoxin 5, the zombie creation chemical. When a friend distributes it as a drug another zombie outbreak occurs.
Unlike the original three films, this sequel is a direct continuation of the plot from the last film with the few survivors going on with their lives.
Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave takes a more comedic approach than the film before it and it continues…
I can usually get on board for this kind of early 2000s schlock. It did include some elements I enjoyed, like the awful jokes and the inclusion of drug taking and raves. Unfortunately in execution it's just boring. Theres not a lot of zombie action going on and when there is it's more or less comical. If you're a fan of the classics then these certainly would never cut it. The acting is pretty rough all around and the effects are more than lacking. Aside from including zombies it more or less abandons the horror aspects and leans directly on comedy. Unfortunately the humor is pretty awful too. I feel like I have to toss it a heart for that title though, I mean come on. Plus I could see myself revisiting it if I needed some shitty background noise and stupid laughs.
Hidden inside their stadium's storage, college students find a Trioxin barrel and extract a drug from its slime to pass around campus. Not the best idea, as stoner zombies attest, considering the giant rave mere days away.
Yeah, this sucks but less when compared to its back-to-back sister, Necropolis, especially if taken simply as Rave to the Grave. Then it's a stupid zombie flick desperate to appeal to teenagers who'd never watch anyway. Trying as hard to make Romania look like Ohio, at least this final outing is spirited and knows it's dumber than shit.
The Tarman suffers the most, shot by bumbling Interpol agents and hitching along a road unlike any American highway in the very next scene. If stuck in front of this, keep in mind the US disc trims every zombie attack compared to the uncut Canadian release. It also auto-starts with a trailer that spoils the ending—maybe as an act of mercy. Watched via Lionsgate's DVD.

Well, this is more what I expected. I watched the companion sequel to this franchise earlier this year - Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis - also released in 2005 - and it was almost a good movie. Rave to the Grave - same director, same year - is a huge pile of pop addled crap.
How did this happen? Same director, same year.... Necropolis was ok - a pretty decent little zombie flick ultimately brought low by bad pacing. But it looked good and it had good enough zombie action. But this film? This has the visual aesthetic of a…
Rave to the grave isn't as bad as necropolis but that doesn't mean it's good just a inch better.
The first thing that bothered me was the characters forgot what happened in the forth movie and just fell into the same dumb plot.
The story is dumb but fine. I didn't hate it but didn't love it. It's just dumb and silly full of boobs, zombies and dumb characters. It's one of the brighter parts of the movie.
The characters are just dumb and cliche and not really in a fun way. The government agents are the best part because they are more funny than the rest.
Tar man is back which was nice to see. He also got a laugh out of me. He looks cool as well. In the end rave to the grave is just dumb and mostly bad with some funny moments. That's it though and I'll stick to the fantastic original and fun part 2.
