Hoop-tober VII Chapter Fifteen: Good Guy Gavotte

“You’ve been very naughty, Mrs. Kettlewell!”

Oh, cool, one of these is genuinely good! I’m fairly meh on the original; the celebrated Bride is great when focused on Chucky and Tiffany but gets dragged down a bit by its boring human characters; and the next two are genuinely interesting misfires. That leaves 3 and Cult that I haven’t seen yet, plus a Chucky TV show that sounds more interesting every time I hear about it. So I suppose I’m lukewarm on the series as a whole, but 2, contrary to most of my expectations, makes the most of the premise. We’ve got a compelling foster-sibling relationship to provide a rooting interest, one genuinely awesome set piece in the Play Pals factory, and some fun visual gags: one bit with a photocopier is worth some chuckles, and there’s also a moment with an unraveled ball of red yarn that’s truly witty and scary. See, I’m not that hard to impress, Mr. Mancini! Just give me more like this, if you please.
