Yet another Arrow pre Argento proto giallo. More hitchcockian than anything but with the exception of the comically bad special effects shots, this thing looks great and is really well acted - particularly by an almost lethargic Klaus Kinski. In the end, this is yet another rich people doing dastardly things film complete with a fantastic score, but I really enjoyed it for what it is.
A lurid set up as Kinkski’s gorgeous wife turns out to be a lesbian and after telling him not to worry because she’s left him her vast holdings in the family company (and not her step father), she dies in a car accident that we see wasn’t an accident at all.
Kinski being Kinski, we can’t tell if he’s responsible or just relieved, but when he is lured into the mod London underworld by a gorgeous young girl who just happens to be in his house one night when he gets home, he begins to suspect that his wife may be alive after all.
The mystery continues unfold as we follow Kinski through sexed up mod porno watching parties until we reach a terrific climax. Sure, it’s pretty easy to figure out who’s responsible, but it’s still well done, if slight and far superior to his later giallo, The Iguana With The Tongue of FIre
