The performance of a lifetime is given by Louise Lasser, spending half the film losing her mind screaming at a telephone operator or sitting piss drunk in front of a refrigerator piling leftovers in her mouth.

I am so happy that it’s that time of year for my beloved Thanksgiving Terrors and Christmas Chillers! I love this movie and it’s apartment complex setting. I love identical twin killing sprees. Why is Todd cute but Terry not? They’re the same person! I love how that one woman lays out a bunch of different flavored schnapps to seduce her date and constantly refers to her actual baby as “Baby”! One of those movies that you are always searching for, deep in the pit of your stomach, and then you see it across the woods and it's running and getting closer with a big gleeful smile and you embrace and it morphs all carnival and memory ala Vertigo for a few seconds and then before you know it your hand is sliced from your body, gravity taking your half-empty Old Style with you!!! It's only natural that the film's original (??) title is Slasher, because this pastel nightmare terror hang-out depression comedy is un-classifiable in spite of all my goofy adjectives. Todd and Terry are identical twins. Todd, is a real good kid. Terry, not so much. One night at the drive-in, Terry goes Michael Myers on a fool. Todd's in such shock, he doesn't say a word when Terry rubs blood all over him, and puts the murder weapon in his hand. He's sent to the loony bin, and that's where he stays for the next decade. Terry goes on living a normal life with his sorta overprotective mother. Now, it's Thanksgiving. “God, that’s horrible. how can they show that on TV?”
A comic and unrelentingly vicious synth bloodbath that's as lean and fun, and gruesome as you want a slasher to be but also for whatever reason has an undercurrent of genuinely lonely, hysterical sadness with regard to its depiction of hollow suburbia violently collapsing on itself. Louise Lasser didn't have to go this hard, genuinely think she gives one the most tragic performances I've seen in a movie like this.
An impressive kill machine, filled with wonderful gore effects, unburdened of tedious exposition. Cheap and merciless.
Annual rewatch... but this time with my Floridian fiancé, who recognized the cedar cove apartments and my mind is blown. I adore this movie more and more every year—equal parts deranged weirdo slasher and Louise Lasser character study, I can’t believe the arrow blu came out almost five years ago—what a gift.
Everyone talks about how it’s not cranberry sauce, but I want to talk about how when the couple came home from their date, if he had run screaming like he should have when he saw that her biggest bottle of alcohol was effing banana liquer then he’d still be alive today.

Todd and Terry are identical twins, one is a homicidal murder and the other is clearly off his nuts and don't even get me started on the Mother, but together their one hell of a Family - so join them this holiday season for one hell of a slaying Machete style! A good old honest pie to the wall slice n dicer which may contain the following situations:- a telephone to nuts, someone who can't keep hold of their beer, a woman in the woods who can't keep her self together and a single mother who can't keep a man together but then again "it's not cranberry sauce!" but just tasty turkey blood n gore which it has in abundance!
4 stars for the movie and 5 stars for Ted Raimi's hat!
That's not cranberry sauce... But that‘s a really nice twin slasher movie with some nice practical effects.
And i can totally understand their mother - if my partner doesn’t call me back in such a situation, I would going insane too lol
A miracle cure for a day characterized by unwanted interaction and tension headaches, Blood Rage is a full meal comprised of delicious kills, a sky-high laugh quotient, more Oedipal allusions than you can shake a drumstick at, and two unforgettably gonzo performances from Louise Lasser and Mark Soper. With all due respect to ThanksKilling, it’s the movie this holiday has always deserved.
