I listened to the new Colors Of The Dark podcast with Rebekah McKendry and Elric Kane - WELCOME BACK GUYS - and listening to Ryan Spindell talk about making this insured I’d be watching very soon.

So tonight I fired it up and instantly fell in love with his singular vision and the world he has created.  You would never know just how low a budget he had to work with as this thing just looks amazing.  Outstanding practical effects throughout and a fantastic score with original songs that I kept trying to find on Shazam - they were that good.

I usually check out of anthologies since they are far far less than the sum of their parts, the wrap around usually disappoints and the tone is almost always uneven.  None of those sins are present here.  Clancy Brown just crushes it as Montgomery Dark, one of the most memorable new horror characters I can think of.  How many teeth did he have btw??   The wraparound is integral to the story and feel and is handled perfectly.  The individual stories are well done, creepy, fun and at times downright scary.  Well acted throughout as well.

I can’t praise this enough and I want another installment (with Montgomery Dark if that’s possible?) SOON.  Oh and I want to live in Raven’s Bay.....
