I can’t remember how this made it to my watch list though I think it was from some Giallo list I found on Letterboxd.  I found a DVD copy on amazon and eagerly cued it up.  It seems like it must be some kind of a bootleg and, in fact, I think it is missing scenes since I read a review outside of Letterboxd that referenced things that I didn’t see in my copy.

That said, this movie is really interesting.  Kind of reminded me of the summer of love hope vibe of Deadly Sweet mixed with the jet set Gialli from Lenzi and others.  But it really was all its own anchored by a stunning performance from Adrienne LaRussa.  She is by turns childlike, seductive, unhinged and incredibly beautiful.  The film really is her showcase and she is in nearly every scene.

It’s basically a hippie vs. the man revenge story and not quite a giallo, but still it was incredibly interesting with a terrific score as well.  I’ve now read that there is a terrific copy on YouTube so I’m going to have to check that out to see how it differs from what I saw.

Too bad LaRussa wasn’t in more films in this era.  She would have been a worthy addition to the woman of Gialli list.
