Film 9: 7 2nd parts

I've never been a big fan of these never ending sequel-slasher-fests that mostly just feed off of the originals, so I never gave those Michaels, Freddies and Jasons much attention. Halloween II gained quite a reputation as an infamous VHS-Nasty in Germany, which is kinda unfair given the relatively mild kills. I really like that they go right into action and pick up where the first ended, not wasting any time. Also the atmosphere in the hospital is just great (although I don't get why nobody seems to use light switches for some reason). Of course, there are some typical 80s-horror logic flaws, but I've stopped paying attention to those a long time ago. In the end nobody outwalks anybody quite as graciously as Michael Myers.

Ich war nie ein besonders großer Fan dieser ewigen Slasher-Fortsetzungen, die nur von den Ideen der Originale leben, daher hab ich den Michaels, Freddies und Jasons nie wirklich viel Beachtung geschenkt. Halloween II hat sich in Deutschland immerhin einen berüchtigten Status als VHS-Nasty erarbeitet, was ich etwas unfair finde aufgrund seiner doch recht harmlosen Morde. Besonders gefallen hat mir, dass sofort voll losgelegt wurde, dass direkt dort weitergemacht wurde, wo der erste aufgehört hat und somit auch keine Zeit verschwendet wird. Die Atmosphäre im Krankenhaus ist einfach fantastisch (auch wenn ich nicht verstehe, warum niemand Lichtschalter zu benutzen scheint). Und na klar gibt es auch jede Menge typische 80er-Horror-Logiklücken, aber da hab ich schon lange aufgehört drauf zu achten. Am Ende können sie alle noch so schnell laufen, Michael Myers holt sie grazil im gehen ein!
