Driving back to Norway, Lina and Martin reach a roadblock where a policeman tells them to take a detour deep into the Swedish forest. But soon one creepy incident after another leaves them stranded in the dark woods and everything seems much too bizarre to be accidental.

Uninspired, totally predictable, struggles to fill up its low running time. Has nothing new to offer.
It is also cruel to make a horror film with a premise of Norwegians smuggling in illegal amounts if booze from Sweden. Some things are a bit too sacred to mess with.
Realism failed when the two Norwegians left their car full of booze. We are very adaptive people and that car would have become their new home.
Some of the actors do a decent job with the very little they are given, but that's it.

Yesss Norwegian horror! This isn't anything I haven't seen before, and I clocked all plot points, but it was still entertaining. I was honestly here for the vibes. But I feel like it could've gone further. Like, the girl in the basement. I thought for sure she was part of that messed up family and was used as bait. And the ending was a little too open maybe? Idk. It was great for what it was!
Its okay to be inspired by classic slashers, but at least make it good

Not sure how they sold this because it's doesn't have much to offer. Some half decent actors and i liked a few of the (original?) songs, but all the rest sums up as been there, done that.

Snarveien is a hostel-ish movie, only less gory and slightly lighter on the xenophobia. There are little to no surprises in the plot, and as such it’s extremely predictable. On the plus side, the two leads are likable and easy to root for, and Marte Germaine Christensen makes a solid final girl.
Despite being a huge fan of slasher type films, I often find myself preferring the parts before the actual killings start, rather than the other way around. Where the dumb characters are just fucking around and being ignorant to the terrors coming their way. Perhaps because human interactions are more interesting than people being chased around (which also could classify as interaction I suppose).
Detour is no exception. Beginning as basic as it gets, with a young couple on a roadtrip, forced to take a detour (duh) in the middle of nowhere. I quite enjoyed this little car ride for what it is, but it doesn’t take long before it starts spinning its wheels (the plot, not the car). Trying…
Most, though not all, of the visceral horror in Snarveien happens offscreen, or is merely implied. That wouldn't have been a bad thing, if the onscreen action was good. The problem is that Snarveien is a collection of horror tropes held together with some string and ducktape.
The thing is, even given all that, I didn't hate it. It's rough, and predictable, but in a sea of offensively bad b-horror, you could do worse.

Well classic story about couple who made wrong turn but this one is bad. Photography is so wrong, wrong music in wrong places etc.
