There are so many myths about the abdominal muscles
This movie feels of a time. And not even 20 years ago when it was filmed, but almost like it’s from the 80’s or 90’s. There’s some cheesiness to the family elements, specifically the kids. They feel like a cliche thought of what someone who has never met a kid would be.
But with that, I still liked it. It was efficient and interesting and oddly erotic. This is my second and a half Cronenberg, and it felt much different than the others
I think a lot of my ranking is the respect for a 100 year old movie being able to do what it did. Some great effects, prescient story, the lighting and shadow usage…it all feels so timeless. The movie is awfully long though, and with no dialogue, it’s easy to get distracted, but I did find myself being roped back in either by the actress who played Maria doing some of the best face acting imaginable or crazy editing or…
First time seeing this and it’s just solid. Entertaining, excellent artwork, excellent voice acting. Also love the anti gun message. Guns are bad
